Christenings & Christening Celebrations

Unlike some churches a Christening at St Augustines is not part of a Sunday service and is carried out
solely for your family. We guarantee you will be the only Christening held in our Chapel.

The choice is yours: whether you use our clergyman or your own for the service.  Or our clergyman can carry out your
service, or perhaps you have your own who you would like to use - the choice is yours.

Using a Church for your Christening?

Why not hold your party or reception at St Augustines? Much like a wedding, a christening isn’t just about the ceremony.
It also includes a party – or reception – afterwards. It’s a chance to catch up with friends and for everyone to meet
your baby. It can be a simple afternoon buffet right through to a three-course sit down meal.

St Augustines can offer services and/or parties 7 days a week and with various sizes and styles of room – we can
offer something, whether it be a small affair with only close family members or a larger gathering that includes
friends, neighbours and even work colleagues.

All Under One Roof

With the chapel and various function room sizes all under one roof, there is no need to worry about travelling from your
ceremony venue to your party venue.

St Augustine’s is a beautiful Grade II listed building, located in Westgate on Sea, Thanet, Kent, with elegant interiors and
picturesque gardens, creating perfect photo opportunities regardless of the time year.

St Augustine's can offer formal or informal options for your celebrations and welcome children at events. We have
facilities available to entertain your little ones,  be it a bouncy-castle or a TV and video; there is plenty of room both
inside and outside.
